MobaHo! Digital Audio Broadcasting Satellite (Japan)
|
The MBSat satellite provided digital audio broadcasting to Japan from 2004-2009, under the trade name MobaHo!. The satellite used a large (12 m) antenna which allowed users on the ground to receive the signal with a small omnidirecitonal antenna on portable devices. The satellite also broadcast the same material in Ku band to terrestrial "gap filler" sites.
The satellite service was discontinued in 2009 due to financial reasons.
