An aerial view of the Long Wavelength Array, a radio telescope being developed near the Very Large Array outside of Socorro, NM. The LWA will operate over the frequency range 10-88 MHz, but will only have regulatory protections within the radio astronomy service allocations that fall in that range. The LWA is among the lowest-frequency radio telescopes ever constructed, and numerous challenges exist when attempting to observe in this range. (Image courtesy of the LWA Consortium.)
